Harmonia Peet wins first place and Jack Adams wins runner up!
The Journal of Civil Rights and Economic Development is pleased to announce Harmonia Peet as the 2024 Best Notes winner and Jack Adams as runner up.
Harmonia Peet’s Note, “Pay the Damn Kids! What New York State Can Do to Protect Youth Sibling Caregivers,” examines siblings who act as caregivers for their younger siblings and what New York can do to help young children who are put in these caregiver roles.
Jack Adam’s Note, “Contract Soldiers in the Fog of War: Defining, Regulating, and Safeguarding the Rights of Lawful Private Combatants Admits the Legal ambiguities of Modern Proxy Warefare,” analyzes the role of lawful private combatants around the world and how we can protect civilian populations in the chaos of war.
We were able to celebrate our winners at our Best Note Ceremony on November 7th, 2024. Harmonia and Jack both gave presentations on their Notes and fielded questions from students and faculty about their topics. We are very proud of both Harmonia and Jack for their wonderful Notes!
